Feb 8, 2015
This is to provide a recap on the Lovett Robotics Team’s activities to date:
1. The Team has been building a Robot
We received the kit and the rules during an exciting conference at Georgia Tech on Saturday Jan 3. The team has spent the last 4 weeks creating an original design and assembling the robot. We are building a fork lift that lifts from the sides to lift and stack totes (big plastic bins). The theme of the competition this year is ‘Recycle Rush” and was the source of inspiration for the design.
We are entering the last 10 days for the build season. The end of build season is Feb 17, when all teams MUST stop building.
2. The Peachtree Regional Tournament will be held on: March 24, 25, 26
All robotic team members should plan to attend. Transportation details and permission slips to follow soon.
Parents are welcomed to watch the Tournament on the 25th and 26th. It is a long day and we are not sure of the timing... so bring a book to read while you wait.
3. The Robotic Team Sweatshirts have arrived. Hope you all like them. If you would be interested in ordered either a ‘hoodie’ or a ‘half zip,’ please email Benjamin and I will see what I can do. Robotic Team t-shirts will be available to order at the end of February.
4. Please continue to come to Robotics meeting after the build season. We will be:
· Designing the Pit: we have a 10 x 10 x 10 space during the Competition and we need to design the space
· Discussing t-shirt ideas
· Resuming off-season projects (Discussing potential outreach projects)
Any questions, let me know.
Thanks,
Benjamin
